Wedding at Laxenburg Castle

Where the Habsburgs once celebrated and Franz and Sisi spent their honeymoon: one of the most beautiful wedding venues, just minutes outside Vienna.

The Conference Center at Laxenburg Castle sits within a park of some 250 hectares and leaves few wishes unfulfilled for a wedding. Baroque grand halls, wide terraces and many places out in the green, along with the history of a house where the Habsburgs held their festivities.

For couples who value genuine emotion, modern style and timeless elegance, Laxenburg is a rewarding place. Short distances, plenty of greenery and architecture that speaks for itself in photographs.

The venue at a glance

Fully renovated in 2020, the house offers beautifully appointed rooms on freshly oiled floors, modern media and climate technology, and everything that makes a celebration run smoothly:

  • four grand halls, two seminar rooms and its own theatre hall
  • a magnificent entrance and a generous terrace with shading, plus a festival lawn
  • 60 reserved parking spaces right by the entrance, along with four EV charging points
  • furniture available on site at no charge, and a dedicated dressing room
  • a modern photo booth with instant printing and social media integration

Ceremonies out in the green

Laxenburg Castle isn't limited to the main house. The sprawling park offers several places for a ceremony under the open sky:

  • the Green Lusthaus
  • the freshly renovated Haus der Laune
  • the Concordia Temple
  • and a few quiet corners besides

If you marry outdoors, it's worth planning a wet-weather alternative. The interior rooms are close at hand, which takes the fear out of any passing shower.

What a wedding at Laxenburg costs

Room hire alone for a civil ceremony starts in the Kaminzimmer, suitable for up to 30 people, from around 950 euros for up to three hours. The Oval Hall for up to 150 seated guests begins at roughly 2,200 euros, likewise for up to three hours and from 30 guests.
