Schreiberhaus in Neustift am Walde is more than a wine tavern. The green garden with its seven terraces and the handsome country house is a perfect backdrop, and just behind the house a wonderful view opens over the vineyards, with direct access. Ideal for couple photos after the reception.
The Renaissance-style country house has stood for cosy hospitality for over 30 years, run in the third generation by the Huber family, with some 200 years of winegrowing tradition behind it. The hostess is Stephanie Huber-Jordan; the service team and the whole family look after the guests’ wellbeing.
The tavern in the green
Between parlours, terraces and vines you find quite different moods in one place. These are the loveliest spots for the celebration and the photos:
- the green garden with seven terraces
- the wooden staircase up to the parlours
- the traditional vineyard terrace
- the vineyards directly behind the house
Inside the country house, nine homely parlours in country style await, from the Augustin to the Schrammel to the Zilk parlour, for celebrating in any weather. The vineyard terrace suits an outdoor ceremony with a reception to follow and opens straight into the vineyards towards the Nussberg. Celebrating and cuisine
Schreiberhaus offers a broad choice. Packages include at least a three-course buffet you can tailor to your favourite dishes, traditionally complemented by a midnight buffet. All tables are laid with white cloths. From five hours a drinks package is available, so you keep a cool head even on the hottest days. Celebrations are possible from 15 people, and for small civil weddings the Schreiberhaus also opens on its closing days from Monday to Wednesday, treating your guests to Viennese specialities.
Catering on the vineyard terrace for 50 guests, including reception, a five-hour drinks package, a three-course wedding buffet and a separate midnight buffet from 16:00 to 24:00, works out at around 90 euros per person. A deposit of 80 percent is due on booking; cancellation fees apply from six weeks before the date. The tip for the service staff is already included as a service charge.
