Wedding photographer in Vienna

In the ceremony room of one of Vienna's five registry offices, you marry Monday to Friday, in the morning or afternoon. With a Dream Wedding (Traumhochzeit), the City of Vienna's term, the registry office comes to you, to a palais, a hotel or a Heuriger: on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 4 and 6 p.m., on Saturdays at 10 a.m., 12 and 2 p.m. Which venues are approved for this is listed in the City of Vienna's list.

For a Traumhochzeit the city charges €670 on weekdays and €995 on Saturdays, and the venue rental comes on top. It opens dates for the whole following year on the first working day of May. That is what the page Traumhochzeit: Reservierung und Kosten says as of October 2026.

If neither of you has ever lived in Austria, the City of Vienna's office for tourist weddings is responsible. There is no online reservation then: you write to touristenhochzeit@ma63.wien.gv.at with your full names, the preferred date, country of birth, citizenship, home address and marital status. If one of you once lived in Austria, you contact your preferred Vienna registry office directly.

The ceremony is held in German. If you do not speak enough German, you need an interpreter for the registration and for the ceremony. Depending on your country, a certificate of no impediment (Ehefähigkeitszeugnis) and certified translations of your documents are added. Since January 1, 2019, marriage in Austria is open to all couples, regardless of gender. You can also still enter a registered partnership in Vienna. The city runs both paths side by side and explains them on the page Ehe und eingetragene Partnerschaft (in German). I photograph same-sex couples in the ceremony room just as at a Traumhochzeit.

Of the repeating-digit dates in 2027, only June 6, August 8, October 10 and December 12 fall on a weekend, all four on a Sunday. The sought-after July 7, 2027 is a Wednesday. All Saturdays of the main season and the public holidays are in the guide The Most Popular Wedding Dates 2027.

In midsummer the sun stands high at noon and casts hard shadows. Ceremonies in the morning or from late afternoon are more pleasant then, for you and for the photos. When the sun sets on your day is shown by the sun calculator for Vienna.

I deliberately do not publish a price list, because it would not be right for most couples. My creative fee depends on how long I am there, which moments matter to you and what else you wish for. For a full-day reportage it includes the planning meeting four weeks before the wedding, 20 to 30 images the day after, your gallery of 600 to 650 images after 14 days and the retouching, with no travel fees anywhere in Austria. The album comes on top. If I stay with you until late in the evening, up to 11:30 p.m., it is my gift to you. In our initial call you get a first estimate, then my proposal for exactly your day. If it does not fit your budget, just tell me, that is no problem at all. For civil ceremonies in Vienna, my creative fee starts at €990 for up to two hours.

Album and wall art are deliberately not part of the package. You decide on them after the gallery, once you know your images.
