Schreiberhaus in Neustift am Walde is more than a wine tavern. The green garden with its seven terraces and the handsome country house is a perfect backdrop, and just behind the house a wonderful view opens over the vineyards, with direct access. Ideal for couple photos after the reception.
The Renaissance-style country house has stood for cozy hospitality for over 30 years, run in the third generation by the Huber family, with some 200 years of winegrowing tradition behind it. The hostess is Stephanie Huber-Jordan; the service team and the whole family look after the guests’ wellbeing.
The tavern in the green
Between parlors, terraces and vines you find quite different moods in one place. These are the loveliest spots for the celebration and the photos:
- the green garden with seven terraces
- the wooden staircase up to the parlors
- the traditional vineyard terrace
- the vineyards directly behind the house
Inside the country house, nine homely parlors in country style await, from the Augustin to the Schrammel to the Zilk parlor, for celebrating in any weather. The vineyard terrace suits an outdoor ceremony with a reception to follow and opens straight into the vineyards toward the Nussberg. You can also marry civilly right here, on site rather than at the district registry office. Registration runs through the Traumhochzeit office of MA 63, and the Schreiberhaus sets up the ceremony with seating and setting. Celebrating and cuisine
Schreiberhaus offers a broad choice. Packages include at least a three-course buffet you can tailor to your favorite dishes, traditionally complemented by a midnight buffet. All tables are laid with white cloths. From five hours a drinks package is available, so you keep a cool head even on the hottest days. Celebrations are possible from 15 people, and for small civil weddings the Schreiberhaus also opens on its closing days from Monday to Wednesday, treating your guests to Viennese specialities.
The Schreiberhaus works per person, so the total scales cleanly with your plan.
What a wedding at Schreiberhaus costs
The Schreiberhaus doesn't charge a hall rental. It bills per person for ceremony, reception, buffet and drinks, which keeps the budget easy to plan. The 2026 wedding brochure works through its own example for 50 guests and arrives at 119 euros per person:
- Ceremony on the vineyard terrace: 15 euros
- Reception, "drinks" package: 19.50 euros
- Four-hour drinks package: 34 euros
- Wedding buffet "Rustikal": 43 euros
- Midnight buffet, counted as a half portion per person: 7.50 euros
There is room upward: with the larger Classic buffet, the canapé reception and a longer drinks package you're closer to 150 to 160 euros per person. Floristry, music, decoration and photography are not included. The building blocks at a glance:

The Schreiberhaus advertises a fixed-price guarantee: what you order per the quote is what appears on the invoice, with no hidden extras. Place settings add €3.80 per person with a white tablecloth or €2 with a cloth napkin, and a brought-in cake carries a corkage of €2.20 per person. Children up to 3 celebrate free, ages 3 to 6 are charged a flat €30, ages 6 to 12 a flat €38. Depending on the parlor and terrace there is a minimum spend, itemized in your personal quote. The tip is customarily 8 percent of food and drinks and is not included in the quote. A deposit of 20 percent is due on booking, 60 percent twelve weeks before the date, the rest on the event day. All figures come from the 2026 wedding brochure and include VAT. Binding figures come with the Schreiberhaus's personal quote.
