Destination wedding photographer in Vienna

For couples who come to Vienna to get married. We plan by video call in your time zone, I photograph your day, and your first images arrive the next day.

Tell me your date

You are planning a wedding in a city you have visited twice.

You have the date and maybe the palais. Everything else happens from six or seven time zones away: emails at midnight, venues you only know from photos, guests who need to know where to stay.

I know the places, the light and the distances.

I plan your photos around the day you actually have, and I am one person you don’t need to worry about. If you’d like help with the rest of the planning, I can put you in touch with two wedding planners in Vienna I trust: my partners in Vienna.

You enjoy your day. I take care of the photos.

From the first video call to your gallery.

Video call

We meet on screen, at a time that works for you. You tell me about your plans, your guests and the day you imagine. You get an offer for exactly your day, in English.

Planning

We build the timeline together: where the sun will be, how long the drive from the hotel takes, when there is room for your portraits. Everything else about the day we settle by email or in a short call.

The wedding

I photograph what happens on its own, and when it’s time for portraits or the group photo, I show you exactly where to stand and how to move.

Your images

The first images arrive the next day, so you can share them before your guests fly home. Your full gallery follows after 14 days, ready to download wherever you live.

Your wedding weekend

Couples who travel to Vienna rarely celebrate for just one day. There is a welcome dinner, a rehearsal, a brunch the morning after, or a quiet walk through the old town once the guests have left.

I photograph one wedding per weekend. That leaves room for the day before and the day after, which you can add at €270 per hour: the welcome dinner with your families, a session at blue hour on the evening before, or portraits in the empty streets the morning after.

Your wedding day itself gets an offer for exactly your day. We work out what you need in our first call.

“For our elopement in Laxenburg Palace Park, he understood exactly what we wanted and turned our couple’s session into wonderful memories for us and our family abroad.”

“His calm and reassuring presence made us and our guests feel completely comfortable.”
Jing & Thomas
“You are the most unobtrusive wedding photographer, and you created impressive images of our big day. Our wedding album is currently the most talked-about piece among our friends.”

Getting married in Vienna: the legal part and the venues.

The legal ceremony
You can marry in Vienna without living in Austria. The ceremony is in German, with an interpreter if you need one. My guide Getting married in Vienna as an American or British couple lists the documents step by step.
The registry offices
Ceremony halls on weekdays, or a Dream Wedding (Traumhochzeit), the City of Vienna’s term, at an approved outside venue, Saturdays included. Everything about dates, halls and fees is in my guide to Vienna’s registry offices.
Legal at home, ceremony in Vienna
Some couples sign the papers at home and celebrate a personal ceremony in their own language here, in a palais, a garden or on a rooftop above the city.
Venues I know
From Palais Coburg and Das Juwel above the rooftops to Laxenburg Castle just outside the city. More in my venue guides. And for the question before the wedding: the best places to propose in Vienna.

Your photos and your album.

Your images come in true colors, without trendy filters, and the album is handmade in a manufactory in Italy. If you want to recognize yourselves in your photos, that is what I work for.

I also photograph weddings anywhere in Austria with no travel fees: wedding photographer Austria.

More about the album

Good to know

Questions about a destination wedding in Vienna.

Do we need to meet in person before the wedding?

No. Couples from abroad and I get to know each other by video call, at a time that suits your time zone. If you are in Vienna before the wedding anyway, we can meet for a coffee, but it is not necessary.

How much does a destination wedding in Vienna cost to photograph?

Every wedding weekend looks different, so you get an offer for exactly your day after our first call. Time on the day before or after, for a welcome dinner or a session, is added at €270 per hour.

Can you photograph our welcome dinner or a session the day after?

Yes. I photograph one wedding per weekend, so the day before and the day after stay free for you. Both can be added at €270 per hour.

Do you speak English?

Yes. We plan, talk and work in English, and your offer and contract are in English too.

When do we get our photos?

The first images arrive the next day, so you can share them while your guests are still in Vienna. Your full gallery follows after 14 days, online and ready to download from anywhere.

Can we legally get married in Vienna?

Yes, without living in Austria. The civil ceremony is held in German, with an interpreter if needed. My guide for American and British couples, Getting Married in Vienna, explains the documents and the timeline.

Can you recommend a wedding planner in Vienna?

Yes. Julian Amenth of Weddings & Events and Ursula Köllner of the Wiener Hochzeitsagentur both know Vienna’s venues inside out and can support you as much or as little as you like, from finding the venue to the running order on the day.

Do you also photograph weddings outside Vienna?

Yes, anywhere in Austria with no travel fees, from the vineyards of Lower Austria and Burgenland to the lakes of Carinthia.

Tell me about your wedding in Vienna.

Your date, your venue if you have one, and where you are flying in from. I’ll come back with a time for our video call.
