The Most Popular Wedding Dates 2027

Repeating-number dates, the Saturdays of the main season, public holidays and major events: the guide that shows what really counts for your wedding in Austria.

Your wedding date stays with you for a lifetime. With the loveliest wedding dates of 2027, though, it pays to look twice: almost none of the pretty dates doing the rounds on social media actually fall on a weekend. This guide shows you the symbolic numbers, the realistic Saturdays of the main season, and the dates worth keeping an eye on.

If you are right at the start of choosing a date, begin with our guide Finding the perfect wedding date. This one goes a level more concrete: the exact dates of the year 2027.

Why the date carries more weight than you think

As a wedding photographer, I take on a limited number of couples each year, and the most sought-after dates are often booked one and a half to two years in advance. That is true not only for photographers, but for every good vendor: venues, bands, florists, celebrants.

So the date decides two things at once:

  • The symbolism: how the day feels and how easily you remember it.
  • The availability: who can actually be there for you on that day.

Thinking about both together is the real trick to relaxed planning.

Repeating-number dates in 2027 at a glance

Repeating-number dates, so dates like 07.07.2027, have a special appeal: they are easy to remember and look wonderful on paper. Here are all of them for the year, with the actual weekday:

DateWeekdayNote
01.01.2027FridayNew Year, wintry, but a public holiday
02.02.2027TuesdayWeekday
03.03.2027WednesdayWeekday
04.04.2027SundayWeekend, still pre-season
05.05.2027WednesdayWeekday
06.06.2027SundayWeekend, early summer
07.07.2027WednesdayWeekday, especially sought-after
08.08.2027SundayWeekend, high summer
09.09.2027ThursdayWeekday
10.10.2027SundayWeekend, golden autumn
11.11.2027ThursdayWeekday
12.12.2027SundayWeekend, wintry

The key takeaway: 07.07.2027, the most sought-after of these dates, is a Wednesday. The same goes for 02.02. (Tuesday) and 11.11. (Thursday). That does not rule these days out. It just means you make a conscious choice: symbolism over the weekend.

The repeating-number dates that actually fall on a weekend in 2027

If the lovely number and a weekend matter to you equally, these four remain:

  • 06.06.2027 (Sunday): early summer, long light, everything in bloom.
  • 08.08.2027 (Sunday): high summer, warm evenings, good for celebrating outdoors.
  • 10.10.2027 (Sunday): golden autumn, my personal favorite for color and mood.
  • 12.12.2027 (Sunday): a winter wedding with candles and a fireplace.

A note from experience: Sunday weddings have real atmosphere, but they call for consideration of the guests who are back at work on Monday. Plan the celebration a little earlier in the day, or make the Sunday the start of a long weekend.

The finest Saturdays of the 2027 main season

For most couples the Saturday stays the first choice: guests travel in relaxed, no one is eyeing the next workday, and the party can run into the night. Here are the Saturdays of the main season from May to September 2027:

May: spring light, cooler evenings

  • 15.05.2027
  • 22.05.2027
  • 29.05.2027

June: the classic, long daylight

  • 05.06.2027
  • 12.06.2027
  • 19.06.2027
  • 26.06.2027

July: high summer, warm nights

  • 03.07.2027
  • 10.07.2027
  • 17.07.2027
  • 24.07.2027
  • 31.07.2027

August: settled weather, holiday mood

  • 07.08.2027
  • 14.08.2027
  • 21.08.2027
  • 28.08.2027

September: golden light, my favorite month

  • 04.09.2027
  • 11.09.2027
  • 18.09.2027
  • 25.09.2027

These Saturdays tend to be booked first. If you want to marry in the summer of 2027, you should start booking your venue and photographer in 2026.

Austrian public holidays and long weekends 2027

A date on a long weekend has a practical advantage: guests travel in more relaxed, celebrate longer and do not need to be at the office the next day. That is especially true if you want to marry on a weekday or a Sunday. Here are the public holidays in Austria for 2027, with the weekday:

Public holidayDate 2027Weekday
New Year01.01.2027Friday
Epiphany06.01.2027Wednesday
Easter Monday29.03.2027Monday
National Holiday (1 May)01.05.2027Saturday
Ascension Day06.05.2027Thursday
Whit Monday17.05.2027Monday

National Day26.10.2027Tuesday
All Saints' Day01.11.2027Monday
Immaculate Conception08.12.2027Wednesday
Christmas Day25.12.2027Saturday

The most attractive long weekends for a wedding:

  • Ascension Day (Thu, 06.05.2027). Marrying on Friday, 07.05. or Saturday, 08.05. gives your guests a long weekend. Ideal for those traveling from farther away.
  • Corpus Christi (Thu, 27.05.2027). Same principle: a wedding on Friday, 28.05. or Saturday, 29.05., with the free Thursday as a buffer.
  • Whitsun (Whit Monday, 17.05.2027). A wedding on Saturday, 15.05. automatically extends into Monday for everyone.
  • All Saints' Day (Mon, 01.11.2027). For autumn and winter couples: Saturday, 30.10. as the wedding day with the free Monday after.

One small catch with holiday weekends: everyone loves them. On exactly these dates, venue, photographer and guests are often booked out earlier or already away. Check the availability of your closest people before you commit.

Major events in 2027 worth keeping on your radar

It sounds like a side note, but it is not: a big television event on the same evening can cost you guests, atmosphere and even vendors. Some people really do decline for a World Cup final or the Song Contest, or are at least somewhere else in their heads. The good news first:

2027 is a quiet football year. No European Championship (that is 2028) and no men's World Cup (2026). The biggest football tournament is the FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil. Because of the time difference to South America, the decisive matches run late in the evening here and barely disturb a celebration.

You should still keep these dates in mind:

  • Eurovision Song Contest 2027, final in May (Bulgaria): Bulgaria is confirmed as the host, and the host city (Burgas or Sofia) will be decided by the end of July 2026. The exact final date is not yet fixed, but the final traditionally lands on a Saturday evening in May. If you marry in May, wait for the ESC date and avoid it.
  • UEFA Champions League final, Sat, 05.06.2027 (Estadio Metropolitano, Madrid): a Saturday evening when many football fans are glued to the screen. Relevant if football is a big thing among your guests.
  • FIFA Women's World Cup, 24.06. to 25.07.2027 (Brazil): usually uncritical because of the time zone, but keep the final on 25.07. in the back of your mind.
  • Wimbledon, late June to 11.07.2027: not an evening event, but the final weekends tie up tennis fans in the afternoon.
  • Men's Rugby World Cup in Australia (from 01.10.2027): mostly of little relevance in Austria, and because of the time difference it runs in the early morning hours anyway.

In short: for a May wedding it is worth a quick look at the ESC date, and for an early-June wedding at the Champions League final on 05.06. Everything else in 2027 fits well for an Austrian audience, a year with pleasantly few date clashes.

Which month suits which mood?

The date is also an aesthetic decision. Here is how the seasons feel in images:

  • Spring (April to May): fresh green, blossoms, clear light. Romantic and light, often with the risk of changeable weather.
  • Early summer (June): the longest days of the year, golden hours until late. Ideal for couples who love outdoor ceremonies.
  • High summer (July to August): warm evenings, celebrations under the open sky. On hot days, mind the shade and water for your guests.
  • Autumn (September to October): warm, soft light, colorful foliage. For me, photographically the finest time of the year.
  • Winter (November to December): candles and a fireplace, snow as a bonus. The mood is intimate and elegant.

What to consider before choosing the date

A lovely date is worth little if important things clash around it. These points are worth checking early:

  • Public holidays and long weekends. A date on a long weekend (for example around Ascension Day on 06.05. or Corpus Christi on 27.05.2027) makes travel easier, but can also mean guests are already booked up.
  • Major events. For a May wedding, check the ESC date, and for early June the Champions League final (05.06.2027).
  • School holidays. During the summer break, guests are more flexible but also more often away. Check the school holidays of your closest people.
  • Key guests first. Talk to the two or three people the day would be unthinkable without before you commit.
  • Availability of the key vendors. Venue and photographer first: they are booked out the fastest.
  • Weather realism. No month guarantees sunshine. A solid plan B (marquee, indoor space, umbrellas) makes you independent of the weather.

The summary

The lovely numbers are not a marketing trick. They just do not show the whole picture: 07.07.2027 is a Wednesday. If you love the symbolism and want a date you will never forget, that is a good reason to marry midweek. If a relaxed weekend for your guests matters more, the Saturdays of the main season or the four weekend repeating-number dates (06.06., 08.08., 10.10., 12.12.) are your candidates.

There is no wrong date. What counts is only that it suits you, and that you plan early enough so that on that day all the people and vendors who carry it are there.

Once your date is set, the time before it gets exciting. An engagement session is the loveliest way to capture it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best wedding date in 2027?

It depends on what matters more to you: symbolism or a weekend. The four repeating-number dates that fall on a weekend in 2027 are 06.06., 08.08., 10.10. and 12.12. (all Sundays). If you would rather celebrate on a Saturday, the most sought-after dates are in the main season from May to September.

What day of the week is 07.07.2027?

07.07.2027 is a Wednesday. Likewise, 02.02.2027 (Tuesday) and 11.11.2027 (Thursday) fall on weekdays. So the most popular of these dates are not weekend dates.

Which repeating-number dates in 2027 fall on a weekend?

Four of them: 06.06., 08.08., 10.10. and 12.12.2027. All four are Sundays. For a Sunday wedding, plan the celebration a little earlier in the day, since many guests are back at work on Monday.

When should we book our 2027 wedding date?

For a Saturday in the 2027 main season, it is worth booking your venue and photographer as early as 2026. The most sought-after vendors are often booked one and a half to two years in advance.

Which major events in 2027 should we keep in mind when planning?

Above all the Eurovision Song Contest (final in May, in Bulgaria) and the UEFA Champions League final on 05.06.2027. Otherwise 2027 is a quiet sports year, with no European Football Championship and no men's World Cup.
